Nationally known singer-songwriter Lisa Aschmann will sign copies of her latest book and perform some of her original songs during an appearance from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 4 (Thursday) at Borders Books & Music, 2525 West End Ave. in Nashville. Her book, 1000 Songwriting Ideas (Hal Leonard), is a handy book of creativity exercises to spark the fire of imagination. It offers concepts to ponder as starting places for songwriting, along with some of the most provocative and inspirational examples tunesmiths may encounter anywhere. Authored by a pro, these proven exercises are for moving the creative lyrical self, the soul, the real tool of songwriting, and the real object of a song's intention. A prolific songwriter and performer, Aschmann has written numerous songs for film and TV, and landed cuts in folk, jazz, pop, R&B, bluegrass, Gospel, adult contemporary, country and Americana. Her songs have been recorded by acts such as Diamond Rio, Collin Raye, Art Garfunkel, Aaron Neville, and many others.
